just been offered a phone upgrade from the carphone warehouse, but i got three months left on my phone contract and dont intend on renewing.
Im guessing that if you dont renew your contract I wont be entitled to a new phone, or am i missing a possible good deal?

You can sometimes end the contracts early.
Normally all you need for a new handset is to commit for a further 12/18 months, regardless of your current situation.
