For some reason whenever i go to the petrol station and want to fill my car up to the top, for some reason it will fill to about 30L and then the pump starts clicking and wont fill up anymore.
What could be causing it to do it?
Cheers

Is it a genuine or pattern fuel tank? I put a pattern fuel tank in mine and the sensor is now in slightly the wrong place which means it doesn't read right on the dial.
Or will it only fill up 30 litres and no more? The tank holds roughly 40 litres so it could be fine.

Well it only filly up by about £25 so about 25litres, so it cant be full. How much are sensors and are they easy to fit?

Right, car was just starting on the red marker, filled it up with 27.3litres and that was FULL, as it overflowing. But considering that it was that full it only comes up as 35litres on the petrol gauge. So what things am i looking into replacing for it to show properly?
Cheers

check make sure the float has been re-fitted correctly and isnt damaged
given its probably an after-market tank, you will most likely need to reposition the float or adjust it.

get a garage to do it, its quite a dangerous job as you need to take the tank top off and the car fills up with petrol fumes, ive done 3 pump changes and there not nice

How much am i looking at a garage doing it? My grandad is good with cars and i think he is wanting a look? I know the garage that did it but it was replaced before i owned the car and i doubt theres anything i can do. The garage is a pile of shite, they tell lies and do crap jobs.

Do it yourself mate I replaced my tank last weekend , took me about 3 - 4 hours, and if all your doing is adjusting the float then half hour max !
