ive been told by someone that what i thought my car showed 2 fault codes yesterday 14, and 105
it now seems it is just one 'p' code: 1405 which is the egr
is the egr the coke can shaped thing, which uses 3bolts to connect to the back of the lower inlet?

just drove the car and the em light came on again.
whats wrong with my egr!?
i know its not a major problem and wont destroy the engine. but the light is pissin me off now, and i dont just wanna take the bulb out.
how about blanking the egr hole? but then i still have to have the wiring plugged in dont i?

apraently u can block it off but i am not sure about the wiring!! all it does is re-circulates the exhaust gasses back into the engine to warm it wap quicker (i think) **correct me if i'm wrong people** so blocking it up and taking the sensor out wouldnt cause a problem as it would still be doing that
like i say though i am not sure about the wiring - sure someone on here will know about it and be able to tell what to do!!

ive read SSOOOOO many posts about the egr, but none of it is solid info. ive read loads of different things.
right, my EML is on, code points at the EGR valve.
Iv just taken it off, given it a clean, but still the EML comes on.
what are my options?
What will blanking the egr actualy do?
