Righto, I've wanted a Rev counter set of clocks for ages and they came through today.

I've managed to get the old one out and the new one in. Its all plugged in but the rev counter is not working, Im guessing its because my corsa is such a shitter they've scamped on the wiring?

anyone else ever had this?

is it possible to wire it up?

the rev counter works off the pea green wire going to the clocks, make sure that its plugged in.
if you dont have this wire then you will need to run a wire to the clocks form the ecu

tbh i havent got a clue if thats the right wire, it looks like it will be the right colour.
did you wire it into the clocks?

no not yet, I cant find the end to it, not sure wether to splice it and run a wire up to the connector block?

i put gsi clock's in a merit, and all dials worked... and thats one of the most basic models, not even got the loom to electrics windows etc..

well mine doesnt have the wiring to the clocks but its floating around near the ECU, or what I assume is the wire:



does this look right?

are you defo sure, it should be on the multi-plug, just look for a green wire

I rooted around for that cable. you mean the multiplu behind the speedo? there isnt any green wires up that far, but this is floating around near the footwell

This is deffinately the correct wire.

If you look down ontop of the plug that goes into the back of your clocks, the pea green (rev counter) wire is the third one across in the plug from the left side. You may or may not already have it in your plug with the pin on the end, if so your rev counter shoud be working. If you don't, thats where you need to put the green wire.

thanx alot Vx and anyone else that gave me some info, should I just snip & splice the cable running a new bit to the speedo plug?

If you're finding it too difficult to trace back the wire and find the end, then this is probably your best option. Just make sure you make a nice tidy job of it and jobs a good 'en.

any idea if it will effect the voltage? else the revs displayed may be incorrect?

will a simple connect block on the end of the cut wire then rewiring the cut end back in and running another wire up to the block?

Will it function correctly without a pin for it? should I just leave plenty of exposed wire to the clocks can pick it up?

I would use a bullet connector and just crimp each end of the wires into it, it will be alot neater than connector blocks. I wouldn't just leave exposed wire for the clocks to pick up as this won't work. Find a gold pin to put the wire into or connect to, you should be able to get them from Vauxhall i would imagine. If not try an electrical/hardware shop as they should have something very similar to suit your application.

I visited vauxhall and the guy didnt have a clue, he just kept on going on about looms ffs!

I've got a voltmeter I've lent but no idea how to use it. I've tried the no gold pin approach and no joy.

anyone broke a corsa recently and can spare me a gold pin from where the dash clock plugs into?

also, can anyone how I would read the voltage of the pea green wire ive snipped?

Im getting annoyed by it because its something simple & I cannot get it to work.

anyone else upgraded clocks and had to wire up the rev counter?

If so how did you do it? did you get a connector pin for the block behind the clocks?
