Just been out for a drive, found that when I brake from about 65-70, the wheel shakes quite violently and the car pulls to the right slightly... had a look at the brake when i got back, and the paint on the caliper is actually bubbling up Never seen that before.

Noticed there's been a bit of a squeak from that side at low speeds but figured it was just dirt in the brakes, any suggestions what could be causing all this?

Seized caliper maybe? They're XE brakes btw.

strip the caliper down, get rid of all rust, make sure there is none on the hub face. and if need be change the seals

Yeah sounds like a caliper is seized, warping the discs as they are getting too hot. Or maybe your over-using them because your engine is too powerful for the brakes

Nah, I only use the brakes once the parachutes are out and the airbrake is raised.

Don't be silly!! Think of the power to weight drop that I'd experience from carrying round excess clothing
