Will have a new AFM arriving soon (thanks to warren-g ) as my 12v has the typical problem of bogging down i.e. nothing happening with the revs and then it suddenly picks up.
In the Haynes manual, it says to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery when fitting the AFM - only problem when I do this is I lose all my CD player settings.
Does the battery really need disconnecting?
Any hints or tips for fitting the AFM in general - Haynes manual seems pretty self explanatory and easy to do, didn't know if there is anything I need to be careful with though?!
Cheers

hand your self with a 7mm on the 1/4 drive and thats it
undo the 2 clips, unplug sensor, refit new sensor, and tighten clips

So you don't even have to remove the air box etc like Haynes says?
1/4 drive?

I don't think you need a socket at all, I think it has the clips that just unclip.
