the hydrolic lifters on my gsi are makin a fakin loud tapping noise, have just done a full oil change and used engine flush to clean all the shite away from the inside of the engine. the mechanic who fitted the engine for me suggested i do this as they were noisey before i did the oil change, but they still make a noise.
any one got any suggestions?
aint got the money at the moment to get them replaced

remove lifters, soak in petrol overnight, pump them all up so they are full of petrol to clear the crap out of them, drain them, refill with oil and refit.
9/10 times its beacuse they are clogged up rather than worn out.

i would have thought that the engine flush would have cleaned the crap off the lifters.
is it just a case of removing both the cam shafts and then removing the 16 lifters?
