just got the top of the range panasonic headunit
http://shop.panasonic.co.uk/invt/cqc8405n
not impressed so far. firstly its not keeping any settings when i turn the car off and on again (sure this is simple to fix though, but strange that my alpine didnt do this) also when i turn it on a press source through to cd, it tells me to eject the cd theres nothing else i can do. so have to eject, then put it back in and then it obviously starts from the beginning again! last point, after messing around for ages on the settings (which ive of course, now lost ) the bass is no where near my other headunit. despite putting the sw level on max, and every other possible setting
i only changed from my alpine cause ive owned it for about 5/6yrs now and its starting to go wrong. but may change back anyway, despite the fact i destroyed the cage getting it out

Swap the red and yellow cables over. That will solve all your settings problems, as well as the cd issues.
Can't help with the bass though.
