Just wondered what this is really. It is definitely not the head gasket - doesn't consumer any oil, any water, I get hot air through the heaters, and the car never over heats, unless sitting in traffic for prolonged periods of time, like any Corsa.
As you probably know, the engine is a X10XE.
It only does it after a 'long' stint on the motorway, at least 20 minutes. If I then stop the car, turn the engine off. Say go in a shop, come back to the car, turn the engine, I get this running water, gurgling noise which goes away after a while.
If it was a blocked pipe or something, surely the car would overheat and such?

Airlock in ther somewhere, let it tick over with the coolant bottle cap off so it starts bubbling, that gets the air out

So basically tick over with the cap off, until the fan kicks in?

Start car form cold with no cap on.
Let in run up to fan kicking in temp, or when the water is bubbling.
Turn car off.
Leave to cool and then top up to correct level.
