ive come to the conclusion that a oil'd air filter like k&n pipercross etc etc cause havoc with the afm
apart from the std paper filer is there a dry filter availible for a c16xe engine?

They all need to be oiled to carch the smaller pieces of dust because the filters themselves arent as fine as a standard one.
I agree that they can cause problems with the AFM but I think mainly people put way too much oil on them so it gets sucked through. Im not sure if the K&N oil thickens up but filter oil ive used from a can goes really thick and tacky after a few hours so its better for not getting sucked off. so to speak.

The VW/SEAT boys will tell you green cotton is the way to go. Their oil doesn't seem to be as harmful to AFM

I agree, I have sold loads of green cotton filters, dont sell pipercross or K&n any more.
never had 1 problem with afm's.
