Is the person using the same key as usual? Not lost it and trying a spare that isn't programmed?
Also did the car cut out, or is it just not firing from first start?

Sounds like it could be an Immob problem then, with crankshaft sensor it usually cuts out when warm then when it cools down a bit usually fires up again.

theres a small plastic grove inside the distributer that sometimes breaks , therefor not delivering the spark, take the distibuter off and inspect it or take the lead from the coil, hold it against bare metal on the car and turn it over, see if theres a spark, if so, connect it back up (if no spark coils gubbed) and take off a lead it the spark plug, and turn the engine over if no spark hear, its a distributer problem

Need to check if it has fuel and a spark, if it has either then its prob a crank sensor fault. If it has one then whichever one is missing is at fault and chase it from there
