Hi all,

I can't see the resevoir on my wifes corsa and I think I need to top-up/check the level of the transmission fluid as the gearbox has become a bit "notchy" in recent weeks.
Any ideas where it would be in the engine bay on a 1L 12v engine, on an 02 plate Corsa?

Cheers

1st in particular. The other gears seem fine.

I guess some of that must be down to it being the wifes car, but I can't tell her that lol

Yes that may be but not all would have been done im sure It wasnt untill 2004 they made the linkage metal instead off plastic, replaced a few now and vaux charge a fortune for a new linkage £100+ iirc where as you can get them on ebay for about £40

Blimey, it's just done 40k miles.
If it was a recall jobbie, then assuming it's not been done then would it be done FOC from Vauxhall now?

It should be, perhaps go into Vaux and explain the situation - i'm pretty sure they won't deny they were recalled

Id imagine there would have been some sort off time limit to have this done but mabe worth checking with vaux,as i said you can pick up the modified (metal) linkage on ebay for about £40 and fitting is easy Where as vaux want £100+ for just the linkage

Well I've just rung my local Vaux and they checked their "recall system" with the reg and it doesn't appear on any recall lists so I'd be looking at replacement at my cost.

Members have said it's an easy replacment so I wondered what's involved in removing the linkage?

Just buy a linkage off ebay mate much cheaper and normally a genuine vaux part, ive bought a few now for ppls cars

As for doing the linkage its fairly easy if your good on the tools, you will needs some torques bits as thats the kind off bolts that hold it in

On the gear box remove the pin holding the linkake to the g-box selector arm then get underneath and you will see the selector rod comming out from the bulk head and clamped on2 the linkage remove the bolt then there are a couple off bolts holding the linkage on the g-box they are easy to spot but there is a circlip that needs removed from underneath that can be a pain but you will spot it easy enough

It really isnt to bad a job to to
