Manifold wrap, demon tweeks do it. It keeps the heat to stop it escaping and getting into your engine bay.

It does lower the heat in the engine bay, however heat is good for another reason. The technical reason that i'm after.

Ceramic coated manifolds are the way forward
Same idea, keep heat in the pipes where you want it, not in the rest of the engine bay

keeps the hot gasses in an expanded state, thus increasing velocity...also helping the cylinder scavage rate
