I have been told that i can swap my 1400 sport engine with a 1600, all i need to do is change the engine and ECU?
Is this correct?
Also are the gearbox's the same?

Yea it's all the same, may need the loom also but gear box is the same, just pop out and pop new in basically

I'm not 100% to be honest but i think it's different, but may well be the same though as they are in effect the same engine just capacity but wait for other replies!
Good luck with conversion when you do it tho m8

may want to uprate the brakes aswell cos the standard 1.4 brakes are not the nicest

Ebay are a good place to look for them!
*Cough Cough* anyway transponder and chip is the lil thing in the key fob itself.

If you use the 1.4 ECU you WONT NEED to change the key chip or transponder.

But you would need the 1.6 ECU as the map is different surely?

i have uprated brakes anyway

It will run fine.
Possibly not as good a map but it wont run rough.

i wouldnt of thought it would run without a 1.6 ECU?
Can you map a 1.4 ECU to the settings on a 1.6?

It'd be easier to use the 1.6 ECU as you want the 1.6 power improvement over the 1.4 so go with 1.6 ecu etc

Make sure if it isn't from a car with air con, as this might cause some problems.
