will the powercap clear my firewall or does it need cutting out?

needs cutting out mate,

buy an eco tec plate and pipe and you dont have to cut the fire wall

but ive looked at my mates ecotec plate and pipe and the plate looks like it restricts the airflow into the throttle body

You wont notice the pipe being abit smaller tbh

fair enuff. its only ive seen corsas with powercaps that dont look like they have had anything cut

i just hit my firewall with a lump hammer to make mine fit.that way no cutting needed

if you do want to fit a powercap i'd mark it out and cut a neat hole out,finish off with a rubber trim,thats what i did ( while i was there i re-ran the brake lines a little different on the bulkhead too just for clearence,bit ott me though )
