Hi all.
Got some Arches to go with a pair of GSi bumpers i accidentally bought...
Looking at repainting them though..
Basically, do the GSi Arches that are colour coded have the bobbly effect of the normal black ones?
The ones i have have been painted but have this effect and i don't think its right..
So Do GSi's have this, or should i rub it all right back?
Also, as its Flat colour / Non metallic (Flame red) - Do i need to lacquer it, as i know flat colours don't tend to be lacquered?
Just wanna get it all as best i can so it matches pretty well and looks a little better than mixed fade black arches lol..
Tempted to spray the whole front bumper but gonna attempt a door handle and Arch first lol...
Otherwise, the guide on this forum in the guides section is very good!
Cheers

Yes the GSI arches have the dimpled effect as standard. I'd smooth it off though as it looks 100% better that way

Its just normal paint.
Halfords Red Primer as recommended with the Halfords Vauxhall Flame Red Paint.
Its not specific Direct Gloss, I just assumed that no lacquer is needed with flat colour, only metallic?

Its not needed but if you want it nice and shiny i'd give it a coat or two of laquer

Yeah thats what i'm doing - Contemplating getting myself a small DA or something.. might make life easier to get rid of the dimples...

Rather than spending hours sanding it down just key the surface up well then use filler primer to cover the dimple effect

Did cross my mind - Will it work though?
I suppose filler primer, then obviously rubbing that down for the primer will take the sticky uppy bits off, but fill the gaps in between the dimples if i have the right idea?
Definately worth a look tbh
Cheers..
p.s just posted this up in another thread too, might stick it here for extra viewing.. lol:
As above.
Thinking of getting my new GSi Kit sprayed up again.
Basic Flame Red so non metallic.
Both Bumpers
Sideskirts
L pieces
Jacking covers
All 4 Arches (But i want them smooth shiney without the dimples)
Also have 2 small dent / dings on the Passenger rear quarter i would like removed..
By one of them is a tiny scuff i'd want blowing in, a tiny scab on the passenger door (1cm squared or smaller), 2 Larger scabs on the bootlid, and 1 or 2 small ones on the bonnet... (To DA down, treat and spray i suppose?)
Also want the whole thing 'Mopped' to take the fade away!
Don't think there's anything else, just want the car looking spot on for once - to be the 'Minter' around here..
Anyone local(ish) to Warminster, Wiltshire (BA12) do this?
Preferably someone out of hours who will do it for cash tbh, don't fancy paying full whack, its a P reg corsa lol...
Also i would like an extra price for spraying a bonnet, should i get hold of a bad boy extended bonnet...
Hope this is the right section!
Cheers
