my heated seats in my golf are only getting 4volts to them what could be causing this as surely they should be getting 12 volts?
they dont heat up which is why i'm asking.
there is no problems with the seats / switch that I can see.

Most probably a dodgy bit of wiring some where

yeah, the golf didnt come with heated seats but the loom is there and the buttons are in the dash for it so i'm thinking someone has put it in a bit wrong. I just dread the thought of having to get behind the dash to check the loom out.

They will get as much voltage as the heating elements require? Maybe they only run at 4volts?

hmmm, there not running tho, and they only get 4 volts regardless if i have the switch at 1 or 5 but get nothing if i have it at 0.
