hi my car failed on emissions other day its not suprising as it smokes a bit(black smoke!!) any ideas how i can sort this out ? ive recently done oil+filter change plus the spark plugs!!

could be a number of things, try a diagnostic check
Lambada sensor
O2 sensor
CTS sensor
Timing
Leak within exhaust system
Catalyic con

My x16xe tigra smoked when reved, i spent £500 and it still wouldnt pass. Still drove perfectly but couldnt get the emmissions down. Went to scrap heaven a few days later, you just gotta draw a line to how much you would be willing to spend. Oil seals are a bitch (if its that)
