ok i was playing on-line earlier against someone and he was constantly team killing me,i sent him a msg saying leave the game if your not going to play properly.
then i get the thing pop up saying he wants to chat,but it kept coming up loads,i started deleting them but they kept on coming.in the end i turned off my xbox.
how did he do this and can it break my xbox?

They prob just kept sending it to annoy you, it wont break your machine.
The easiest thing to do is go onto his profile and its called something like player review or something and just select 'avoid this player'

done that anyway,well they were coming way to fast for him to have been sitting there doing it,i tried to do it back and you have to keep going in and out of chat to do it.

All he was doing was sending you an invite, and while he was on the chat screen, he kept bashing the Y button to 'Page Gamer'

or holding down both trigger buttons, scrolling down to invite to private cht and bashing the green button.
set your status to busy in future and you'll have no problems
or, if it happens again press the middle button (cant remember the name now) twice fairly quickly and you'll get the guide up, scroll to the right, goto preferences and set your status to busy
