Try CIS like dave says, they dont charge for mods (except engine), but to be honest I wouldn't be too hopeful insureing a 1.4 with mods and havein 6 points b4 u pass your test! Sorry to sound negative but i ave enough trouble gettin insurance wit no points and a NCB!

Christ amn, bad idea.

You aint gonna get a decent quote with what you have done, points, driving illegally, moddified car, 1.4 engine.

Not trying to be harsh but its true.

You got a really good quote, I am 17, no problems ever and they wanted about £1000 for a 1.2 8V with all mods declared.

Once you have declared your mods over the phone (which by the way you must declare ALL or it will invalidate any claim that make), you might well see this premium rise a hell of a lot. Also the fact that you are young and have 6 points already is gonna mean you will be forking out mega cash for a 1.4. You might be ok with a 1.0 12v!

If youve got money to spend on mods may split car and sell bits, this will net you a few bob. Buy a 1.0 16v, fully colour code it (wont affect your insurance i told two insurers didnt bother them, includin endsleigh and CIS) dril whole in yuour airbox (brum brum lol, or maybe not) get insured TPFT and spend your money from mods either towards your premium or on decent ICE eg high quality custom fit speakers etc, at least it will get u on the road and wont have MR insurance lookin down the side of ur sofa for 10p's !!

Tesco wont touch him with a barge pole. They told me to fuck off after 1 years insurance with them on a 1.2. I did some mods on it and my premium nearly doubled. Then i got my 1.6 nd they wanted £3000

Blazer how much have you shopped around?
I have a 1.4 8v spi. I'm 22 and have 0 years NCB.Only been driving a year.
Last year my insurance was £700 with Tescos fully comp. Having made a claim for a breakin they stuck mine up for the following year. Mine is now £680 with Endsleigh Insurance. (Would be less if my mum weren't on it as well)
I don't know if its cos I'm over 21 but that quote does seem high.
y not do the Pass-Plus cos thats supposed to bring ya insurance down.
