After spenind a total of £1300 so far to get a 1.6 in my car (loads of problems)
It was taken to a garage to have a new engine in.
Engine is turning over now but not firing, says getting no fuel definatly immobilser fault, he said alarm has been removed
anyone have idea what could be, or is it immobilser.
previously with this new engine car was running for few seconds then cutting out

I'm assuming the engine is the 1.6 16V?
Has the immobiliser transponder and chip been fitted?

Riiiiight.... Car got plugged in these are faults
1. - Incorrect RPM signal - not present
2. Fuel pump relax voltage low - not present
3. - Immobilser wrong signal - present
He managed to "clear" faults 1 and 2 whether they will stay cleared when engine starts is unknown.
Fault 3 stayed on the computer - and showed the key was not coded to immobilser - bottom line meaning key/immob(cant remember which) has to be recoded.
Now - If you have original passcode (should come in log book) this part is easy, but his only ever met one person with this code and it was a new car.
My option is to go to vauxhall and say car was scrapped i got engine from it (and my mechanic said would right me a receipt for the engine) and they SHOULD be able to give me a code, once i have this code all can be reset, hopfully allowing car to run.
