i have a astra 2ltr 8v engine i have been told i can fit this onto my 1.4 8v gearbox using a 1.7 diesel gm engine flywheel/clutch i dont wheelspin am i likely to snap the drive shafts (original 1.4 shafts) and is it right about the flywheel what cars did the 1.7 diesel go in

just get an f16 gear box, you can get them cheap enough, its not worth the hastle. and just get gsi hubs and shafts and big block cv joints that cost about £20 for the joint

Driveshafts will be fine.
1.7D was in Corsa and Astra iirc.
