well actually it never overheats which is also odd. heres the problem:

when starting the car, within a mile or 5 mins the temp is around 100 / 102 already!

ive changed the temperature sensor, the radator and the thermostat. this has made no difference.


the car never seems to overheat, it would just stay at around 100, turing the heaters on doesnt really cool it much, and im just out of ideas what it could be. i dont think its the water pump either because im not loosing coolant.

anyone had this problem or any ideas of a fix?

mine has started to do the same .... I have just had a new waterpump about a month ago it not the thermostat as im getting water round the system and my fan works (only thing stopping it getting too hot)
I know that my head gasket has gone (leaking oil out but not mixing with or loosing water) so I'm assuming its something to do with that

water pump failure pal, its not circulating the water around properly, i will put money on it

thanks people, is it a hard job to change a water pump on a 1.0 ? also is it something you can do yourself or do you think i should let a garage do it?

Pump on a 1.0 is easy, haynes manual.
