Woooppp
Looks like our place is sold. Purchased a 1 bed FOG (flat over garage) back in aug 08 for 115k. Spent about 1k on the garden with decking and adding borders etc etc
Just started legal proceeding with a friend of the family for 117.5k. So will make a small it, nothing much but ok for these times.
We have been and viewed a few places, but really loving one less than 100m away from where we are now. Its been rented out since 2006 when it was built, and the last tenants have left it rather minging, with plenty of small holes in walls, and generally just dirty.
Its going to be a big big step up for us. Its a 3 bed with 3 double bed size rooms, a 15.7 x 15 front room, ensuite to main bedroom, family bathroom, nice size kitchen, downstairs toilet, and a decent sized back garden. Driveway for 2 cars plus a carport at the back of this.
Smaller 3 beds (1 double 2 single size rooms) on here all up for 168k plus although they have a garage. This is up for 149,950 through a friend, he is confident we will get it for 140k as the seller is desperate to get rid so he can buy some land.
So hopefully its all going to work out, if not we will still sell ours and find summit else.
Hopefully i can add some pics once we been accepted

I have searched the internet, and i know he bought it new for 147.5k.
I think he will take 140k, as its going to be only offer he had, and it will be into a small chain which is already rolling.
I instructed solicitors to start drawing up contracts etc today, so the ball is rolling.
I shall upload the pics i have of the new place shortly.
Been a bit lucky and my step dad has given us 5k on a long term basis (forever) to decorate the place. Thats new carpets and wall paper/paint throughout easily covered as all work will be done by me and step dad/mum/dad etc.
Sorted mortgage out yesterday, for now, i think we will extend the mortgage over 40 years, just while we get on our feet again, and also to allow the fixed rate were already in to end, so we can get a better deal and go back to a 28-30 year mortgage.
Really excited as its such a big step up. Hoping it all works out

Also, found out the area is classed as a deprived area, meaning its council tax exempt. Which is a big bonus, as i had budgeted 1500 quid for it.

Just though id bump this.
To cut a very long story short, we never put an offer in on it.
Bloke buying my house pulled out, we listed on market, not had a single viewer since march, guy who owns this decided to LET it again.
Then suddenly this week, the guy who owns it, decided to come and tell my step dad that its his if he wants it.
So we offered the £140k, and he has agreed, my mum is gonna buy my house to rent out, until it sells, or for a longer period.
So things are looking good again!!

I may rejig the ensuite eventually. Plus a conservatory.
It's all in the hands of solicitors now. Things are moving fast. Would love to be in by end of October.

FINALLY!!!!
After 8 months we have finally got somewhere!!!
Exchanged contracts on weds.
We have been really lucky, the house is empty as the tennants had to be moved out by exchange. The guy selling the property has gone a bit mental (literally) and has been taken into hospital for weeks. We know the estate agent very well as my stepdad owns the shop next to him, so he has given us the keys already for us to start decorating.
Its been a right ball ache and non stop work every night after work already. The walls had about 100 nails/holes in them, which all had to be filled etc.
So far have blanked most walls in the place out with 1 coat. The master bed and lounge have had 3, and just need to glossing doing.
New carpets were ordered thursday, and are being fitted next sunday!
Its all going on!!

Finally getting there. Everywhere is now painted except the kitchen and downstairs toilet.
They can be done at a later date. Needed to get all the other rooms done before the carpet goes down tomorrow!
Hoping to start moving stuff in 2mo night, after carpets finished. I can caqrry stuff round as its so close to my current house lol.
Hoping to move all the bed/sofas/white goods weds and sleeping there that night
Hope all goes to plan!!

Yea, they are nicer than most places around here.
Well all the carpeting is done. Not happy with a few places around the edge, as its bulging up, seems like carpet hasnt been cut enough. Mate will sort that though.
As per usual in my life big fuck up with the carpets this morning. Carpetrights roof collapsed with all the snow, and my carpet was under it. That was the only roll they had, and the new one on order was going to be another 2 weeks.
Luckily a few phonecalls they found some in a town 2 hours away. The manager borrowed my mates van and picked it up for me! Result!!
Now off to the house to clear up and get it ready to start moving stuff into.
Pics to follow
