I got my car back from garage this avo and they said the knocking noise from the back of the car is the rear tie bar, it is badly worn and loose.
The garage said they weren't confident in touching it, because the car is lowered

Whats this look like ?
Are they expensive ?

Dunno mate, thats just what they told me, on the invoice it says "Rear tie bar badly worn and loose"

hmm.. ok
Would either of those cause a clunking/knocking noise if worn or loose ?

I had a real loud creak in the back of mine I had shelf wheel an everythin outta mine stil couldnt figure it out, in the end drove round wiv me dad in the boot! to find it what was it! bloody boot lock catch, sprayed some white grease in it and it went! Remember noise travels!

I just had a look in my haynes manual and it doesn't list rear beam in there, is it the rear antiroll bar ?

I think I'm gonna have to get under the car tomorrow and have a look myself, and try to find something thats loose and worn!

The rear beam is the big fook-off metal beam that goes between both wheels! and attaches to the floor the antiroll bar runs down the middle of it set in rubber blocks
