No the mtal circular thing sitting between engine and rad, removed mine literally yesterday and the 4 branch too!
I couldnt get bolt off to rmeove SAI, so I sawed the fucker off, then bolt come off easily haha, just make sure your careful when undoing bolts holding manifold on, if one rounds off its going to be a git, but its an easy job#!

When it comes to undoing the manifold please stick to 6 sided sockets and make sure it's well seated with a twatting stick (hammer!), if you are doing it anytime soon douse the bolts a day before hand with penetrating oil or diesel. If you use the multisided sockets you are far more likely to round them off!

I used a spanner, for all apart from lower middle one, whic rounded off, and getting socket at 12mm that was deep enough took me rooting through garage for nearly an hour, to find some rusty spider web covered socket that did the job

Do not need a blanking plate for manifold as it will cover the SAI hole that will be left., what fan thing are you referring too?
Yes the metal cylinder thing bolted to manifold

You dont need to take the aircon off mate you can just take the fan off the radiator and then undo the top clips on the radiator and push it forward. The only problem i had was i struggled to get my new manifold up from underneath so i took the oil filter off and it went up easily
