...how much money would it cost to get a Corsa shell moulded out of carbon fibre and could you imagine how fast that would be?

Just having a carbon fibre shell wouldn't turn it into a supercar!

I was thinking about it the other day! If I won the lottery I would obviously buy a Ferrari and a few other very nice cars but I would also want to get a full carbon fibre Corsa shell that would way next to nothing. I would then go to Vauxhall and buy a brand new c20xe engine and get Courtenay to fit it for me. Next stop would be SBD for one of there 299bhp/206 ib/ft throttle bodies kit that would power the rear wheels. Lightweight 17" alloys would have to be used to help with traction as 300bhp and very light chassis would need it. A very good LSD would be used along with a fully customised close ratio gearbox.

Lucky B did 0-60mph in 4.97 and 0-100mph in 12.something with 250bhp and not a fully stripped out shell. I would imagine 'this' carbon fibre corsa would be extremely fast. Probably very similar 0-60 wise due to traction but 0-100 I would expect would be sub 10 secs.

If i won the lottery this would be a definate! Far more fun than a Ferrari!

I am opposed to POAH. They need to be tamed!
1598cc, 16v's and throttle bodies is where it's at
170bhp, 124 ib/ft, 0-60mph in 6.9secs, 1/4 mile in 15.249 and Top speed of 130mph

Im with you on the supprise element.

I'd have a NOVA shell made out of carbon fibre! Then a phase 5 LET engine (450odd bhp) mappable engine management, 4wd, launch control, traction control, 6 pot brakes, 6 speed box etc etc etc

Oh, and a 1.2i badge!

Who needs to win the lottery. Glass fibre (only slightly heavier than carbon, but not as strong) panels are available for corsas already. Tailgates, bonnets and doors are available, and then you can replace all the glass with perspex. That should knock a good 100kg off.

If I won a shed load I would take Daimo's idea and drop the corsa of at Reyland. Tell them to drop the cossie lump and divetrain in. Whack one of the new cossie turbos and laugh all the way to the race track.

Thats what Id do, Id have my supercars, Ferrari, Lambo, McLaren etc but id have a Nova that looks like a complete shed that would rape all of the above. Just think a Nova that looks like sh1te with black bumpers, rust, furry dice, neons, fuel filler cap but does 0-60 in 3 secs and a top speed of 220+mph.
