what sort of power will i be looking at once ive fitted janspeed manifold, s/s system, cat bypass pipe and my existing backbox which is a 4" jap slash cut powerflow zorst, plus kent fast road cams and ive also just had it superchipped which is now recorded at 115bhp...

The FIRST thing to sort on a 1.4/1.6 16v engine is that torturous inlet manifold,it was designed to REDUCE power as they are such a good engine,replace it with a mantzel powerbox for about £400,this alone will give you an extra 25bhp no bull or exageration!!,with the mods you mention aswell you could be looking at 150bhp,same bhp as a 2ltr 16v,although with much less torque.

would work out cheaper to put a 2.0 litre in and have the power standard ready to play with, plus more torque!

So £400 quid isn't cheaper than buyin a2.0l lump, gearbox, driveshafts, fittin kit, springs etc etc, I dont think so!

thing is I dont want the weight of a 2lt and my gsi as only done 38k miles so not wanting to get rid of engine yet cos its a blinding engine.
