May as well stick this one up too
A short & sweet write up on this one as a lot of the photos I took didn't come out anywhere near as well as I hoped
I was contacted by a previous client to see if I could treat his pride & joy to a bit of Refined Detail TLC; a fast road prepped Triumph GT6. We agreed a protection detail would be the best bet, as swirl marks weren't really a concern to address. It'd previously been protected with a carnauba wax, but the beading was starting to slacken now, so it was time to top it up! The engine bay also received some attention as it was looking a little grubby in places, and the interior was given a quick spruce up too.
So first up the engine bay, as you can see, a lot of money, time & effort has been spent in this area in the past!
Engine bay and underside of bonnet cleaned with Autosmart G101 using various brushes to get in all the nooks and crannies. Rinsed off with an open hose and blown dry with the car dryer. Painted areas were tidied with Autosmart Tango, brightwork polished with Autosol. N.B - there is a fair amount of Waxoyl in places which was deliberately left for protection purposes, some grime simply didn't shift and I wasn't prepared to use extremely strong degreasers on delicate paintwork.
Wheels & tyres were then cleaned with Espuma Revolution, they were later dried, wheels were sealed with Carlack NSC and tyres dressed with Autosmart Rubber & Plastic and buffed to a satin finish:
Paintwork was pre rinsed at medium pressure (being careful of panel gaps and rubber seals) before being washed using the 2 bucket method with a lambswool mitt and Valet Pro Poseidon's Carnauba wash. Rinsed, and dried with a miracle drier. All nooks & crannies blow dry with the car dryer - there is many water traps on a car of this age!
Normally at this stage the paintwork would be de-tarred and clayed to ensure it is contamination free, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was in perfect condition already! These stages were skipped and went straight to hand polishing using a combination of Autoglym Super Resin mixed with Clearkote Red Moose Glaze - something I find to work very well on red (and non clear coated paint) This was then topped with 2 coats of Dodo Juice Supernatural for a touch of carnauba bling and some long lasting protection.
Brightwork was polished using the old school method of glass polish which worked nicely, along with exhaust pipes and backbox using Autosol and fine wire wool:
Glass was cleaned with Espuma Revolution and black trim with Aerospace 303 protectant.
Interior was already in a good state, but was given a good hoover and all hard surfaces wiped down with Meguiars APC:
Leaving it looking a little something like this:
A very enjoyable detail (although rather back breaking due to being so low!)
Thanks for looking,
Rich @ Refined Detail

Great looking cars. Shame they supposedly handle awfully. Always had a thing for them though.

Thanks all!
The client said this handles superbly - tbh it's had a LOT of suspension work carried out - fully adjustable Spax suspension, front & rear anti roll bars etc.
Sounded great too with a straight through exhaust and throttle bodies
