My sister has given me a CD with Microsoft office on it and she wants me to put it on her USB storage device.

What program can I use to rip it?

Should be easy for most of you

I tried that but then theres just loads of files on the dongle? How would she install it?

Use dvd fab to rip as an ISO. Copy that ISO over to her dongle. Get her to install daemon tools and mount the ISO and install

You just click on the setup file, put them all inside an 'office' folder if you want it tidy.

No need for iso's and mounting.

Done that John, when she clicked on the setup file (Autorun) then followed the steps it asked for the installation disc.

Can I not just do it so theres only 1 thing on her memory stick that she double clicks? Sorry for crap explanation

Incase your wondering why she doesn't just use the disc, she borrowed it, and wants the setup saved.

You can't do it the way you are talking about with 1 file without packaging it up in some way yourself.

What version of office is it?

Copying the files into a folder and installing is how I've always done it since back at XP at the earliest.

Don't use autorun either, there is normally one called setup.

I've done as John says since Office 2000 and it's worked just fine (and it's how all the software at my uni gets stored and installed). Don't use autorun as it tries to load a splash scree off of the disk, find the setup.exe file and run that.

Its Office 2003, I'll tell to look for setup.exe

If that doesn't work then its tough

tell her to download "open office", it's free and quick to download. It's a rip off of office, except free.

Else tell her to download a cracked version of office herself or do it for her
