Can i get locking tools for removing the chain on a x12xe? or are there other tools i can use like certain size drill bits. not had a look at the engine properly yet but taking the head off one next weekend.
any help would be apreciated. thanks

there are special tools for it you might get away with a half inch ectension to lock the crank up , use a rivet to lock the chain tensioner then something to lock the two camshafts up needs to be about 6mm thick

The main thing is the cam sensor locking tool thing.
For the price of the tools, Buy them and sell em on again, or keep them for future use.

Ask your local garage if you can borrow the tools, that's what i do

I managed to buy my locking kit for that engine for £25 brand new the other week.
Still not got round to putting the new head on yet though.
