Just bought a 2l corsa, it idles fine, starts ok but if i drive it, it drives fine if i feather the pedal but if i decide to launch it it doesnt get any faster just louder??? Even when i change to second gear!!! Also when i rev it the engine shakes like fuck!! Any ideas what it could be?

It drives fine if i go slow but theres just no power what so ever! My 1.2 8v is faster than it thats how bad it is haha, ill try that the now

is the e.m.light wired up? i.e it comes on with the ignition then goes out?
put a vid up of what it's like to drive. does sound like clutch

If it doesn't stall, its likely the clutch. Although I don't know much about the vauxhall box, but if its anything like early Renault ones, one of the driveshafts may have fallen out of the diff/could be sheared on the splines

Do u mean clutch down-1st-foot right off the clutch? If so then yeah it stalls, i thought u meant does it stall as soon as i put it in gear.

try building up speed slowly in first and second, keep it in second to about 6k revs, then clutch in quickly and go straight to fifth, let the clutch out and rev hard, if the revs go high but the car doesnt pick up speed then the clutch is slipping. needs to be changed and have a look at the flywheel.
