Hi,
So i fitted my 195/45/16 Alloys the other day and thought the front tyres where going to scrub on turning but funny anuf its the other way round my back arch is scrubbing outer sidewall on tyres as i go over speed bumps lmao.
Is there anyway to sort this as i dont want to burst my new tyres (continental contact 3s) maybe raising the suspension or will i have to do arch work? any ideas???

little bit of arch work imo
angle grind the lip inside off, mite get you a good few mm, but make sure you paint it up and that so it doesn't rust. could be wrong like, but that's what id consider
how low are you?

I would not do this first, If its he plastic arch as he said, Then just trim that, If the inner bit touches, bend it out, No point in cutting it etc. I run astra 6spokes with 195 50 tyres and they used to run until i did the above. My speedlines are miles away.

I have not lowered the car yet but the front tyres are at a good level but the back ones are lower then the front i think if i moved the lip of the arch out by a few mm they wont rub any more but should the back be lower then the front on a standard suspension? if so how would i go about raising it?

Try cutting plastic lip away first if that doesnt work try pulling it out abit or park up and get some mates to sit in the back so you no exactly where it scrubs

back shouldnt be lower than the front mate. not enough for the wheels to catch the arches anyway i have 195/45/16 tyres on 16" speedlines and they are miles away from the arches on standard sport suspension even with 3 people in the back and a boot full of stuff.

16's shouldn't catch on standard suspension. Either the offset is way off or Vanessa Feltz is hiding in your boot.
As others have mentioned the plastic arch lip can be trimmed back with a grinder and flap disc, take it as far back to the metal as you dare, if you catch the metal you'll need to touch that back up.
What wheels are they?

I will take a picture soon, just been talking with my dad and he said it might be the shockers in the back suspension that have gone is this a possibility?

your car is a 5 door aswell mate so the suspension is higher that the sport as standard so no way should it rub. im guessin either the suspension is knackered/ cracked rear springs are common on corsas or the wheels are the wrong offset

Not necessarily, the lip on the rear is always the first to catch. Do you know the offset?

Looking at those pics it's definitely the offset of the wheel that's your problem.

i had 2 people in the back of my car yesterday and the suspension dropped past mid way of my tyre sidewall would this indicate that my back springs may have had there use as they don't look like they have been replaced sinse the car was made lol maybe new bigger springs may help with the arch catching also looking at the car with no one in it on a level road the back is extremely low compared to the front which is very high
Edit/ Im taking the alloys of tomoz to paint the drums and what not so i will let you know the offset as i cant remember but i was told they were the right offset for my corsa b by a friend who came to get them with me.

Ok, the offset should be stamped on the inside somewhere.
New springs may well help but you might also want to look at shocks at the same time. Standard parts aren't that expensive

If thats going as low as the sidewall with 2 people in the back theres definitely something faulty, my guess is your shockers are leaking. That'll be the reason its scrubbing too as the car will be going very low at the back over bumps.
