Well....... Went to change my spark plugs yesterday. Put the tool in and the chamber is full of oil, well not full but quite a bit. Any idea what caused this? Head gasket? Any help muchly appreciated. Oh yeah its a corsa b sport 1.4 16v.

any blue smoke? as that would indicate burning oil in the cylinder. i would replace the rocker gasket 1/2hour job.

If there's oil on the plugs before you've taken them out then it's clearly the rocker gasket.

Yeah, just the rocker cover gasket, quite common on that engine.

Take plugs out, oil will go into chamber and burn off in a few seconds.

I just shoved some kitchen roll down there to absorb as much as possible before I removed the plugs. The rest just burnt off, no worries.
