Currently living in New Zealand, been here since November 2009.
Current vehicles in the family fleet
2001 Corsa 3dr ( badges as Holden Barina here ) still a spanish made Corsa C
2003 Corsa 1.4 Sxi
1993 Golf
2008 Ford Ranger
2006 Focus ST2 ( electric orange )
I used to work for a Vauxhall Dealer back in the day, now fitting Kitchens
The Sxi may have a headgasket problem.
Misfiring and sounds like low compression on cold start ( always misfiring ) I was thinking sticky valves to start with.
No2 Spark plug is fouling up ( swapped plugs around and swapped coil pack from the other corsa. also swapped 1&2 injectors over ) no 2 still fouling. Looks like it's using coolant too.
mileage is quite high - toying with getting a low mileage engine instead of throwing money at this one.

You done a compression test? Does sound head gasket as you suggest.

Haven't done a compression test, dont have access to a tester. Expansion tank emptying itself over 24hrs with no external leaks makes me think it's head gasket.

update : took the head off today. was a bit worried when i found that the head gasket looked ok. then i turned the head over..... 1 exhaust valve has a hole in it! just pricing a set of valves now, hoping some one on ebay can post to nz.
