The ECU light on my mates Volvo S60 keeps coming on. I've reset it a few times but the same fault of catalyst effiency keeps coming up.
I've replaced both Lambda sensors and still get the code. The Cat is well over £300.
If I remove the cat completely is it likely to still flag up the ECU light?

I would say yes if one of the O2 sensors is after the cat.

I thought so, My mate's Focus ST does the same. Although the second probe actually goes in to the front of the cat.
