Been stripping my head apart today to get it skimmed. Do i need to leave the valves into to get skimmed?

You can leave them in. Are you changing the valve stem oil seals? Might be worth asking them to re-seat the valves, if it's a engine building company.

yea doing valve stem seals. im going to re-seat the valves myself.
was going to take the valves out and clean them up while the head is being skimmed.

I will be fine without the valves in. Make sure you give it a damp good clean afterwards.

If you are having it fully preasure checked the valves will need to be left in.

nope not having it pressure tested. cheers.
got another problem though. just been removing the valves. exhaust side cylinder 2 and 4 the valve are extremly tight to get out. like they wont go past the stem seal. is it possible there bent? if they are there not noticably bent, and they seat correctly in there seats.

I had seven bent valves in my XE, and I didn't know till they dressed them.

I had 4 bent inlet valves on my c16se. I got them to re-seat the vales then I just used some fine grinding paste for the final lapping in.

i got them out in the end. at one stager in its life it has had 10 valves replaced.
i tried anoth valve in the guides of the ones that would come out, and they went in freely. so im going to buy 4 new valves and and get 4 new guides put in.
