To cut a long story short my corsa has a coolant leak it has had the cambelt and water pump changed around 1k ago. But recently I have noticed my temp gauge running higher than usual. I left the car over night and topped up 1 litre of coolant mixed with water. I saw an improvement straight away and the temperature dropped down and the heating in the car was getting better. But everythmd I drive my car now I notice it getting worse.(higher running temperature and not very hot air from heaters).
I can see a trail of liquid coming from the thermostat housing and leaking downwards? Could it be this. Also when the car is turned off I can hear a very slight hissing from the expansion chamber cap. The car is on 88k and is an x16xe.
Cheers :-)

i would imagine it is, hissing is normal. change the housing and thermostat, its most likely the rubber gasket only like £15 , commin-ish problem really.

Yeah, easy job.
Clean the mating surface up before the gasket goes on though.
Once changed, top coolant up and run to temp with the expansion tank cap off then leave to cool and top up.
