Yes Ive done that!! The switch can't be in the wrong position!! It only goes on one way! When you hve the ignition switch off you can see the other side of the ignition barrel, which is like a little pin!! The end of the ignition switch has a hole and that little bit goes into it, but can only go in a sertain way!! It's not that guys!
The ignition switch is fully turned off right when the keys are out. Must be Somhing elae

I know how the switch works I've changed them twice. You're not thinking about this logically.
You can twist the centre of te switch to
Put it in different positions too

Does sound like the barrel isn't lined up with the right place on the switch, hence why the car is still running while the barrel is in the off position

Yeah i know you can mate, but its the ignition barrel side that determins where to set the switch, as when the keys are out the barrel is in position 1. so you turn the switch to suit so that the little bit goes inside the switch!
Ive done that. must be something else

bloody hell! The igniton switch can only go in the position that the barrel is in!!! the nib bitty at the other side of the barrel is shaped the same as the inside of the switch, so it only goes in one bloody way!!!

The car was fine before you changed the ignition switch. Therefore I think it's pretty fair to assume that the switch is the bit that has messed it up.

Yeah it was indeed and I know where your all coming from, but the switch only goes on one way! With the little nib bitty going into the switch. I've had the dash out so I'm not sure if there's a constant live or somthing? :/

Holy shit man, the switch inside can be moved yes! An the ignition barrel can be moved, so you line the pin and the hole in the switch up and put the switch against the back I the barrel! Then put the little screw in! That's what I've done!!

when i put the switch in should it be turned closest to me? then turn the barrel closest to me? or should i start the key and the switch at second position? As im turning the key closetst to me and have the switch turned closest to me also. dunno if i should start them both at position two or three?
