Hi all i have timed the engine up as according to the haynes manual but im not happy that the belt is tight enough. I fitted it so that the long side is taught then turned the engine over 2 times and nipped the 13mm bolt on the tensioner but i can grab the belt in between the cams and wobble it up and down i would say excessivly. the 13mm is about in the middle on the tensioner now. Anyone have any tips?

Cheers

before you tension it take all the slack out of the long part of the belt so the slack will be by the tension er then when you move the tensioner it will take the slack out

And then turn it over twice and it should self tension or do you have to get a ratchet in the square hole and lever it over?

as you go to tension it stick a 3/8 ratchet on a extension into the square hole and turn it anti clockwise to take the tension out of the belt, then tighten the bolt, turn it over 2 times and make sure the marks all line up and that the belt aint to loose/tight ,if so re do it aging
