Right am i being seriously stupid? Going to go do the paper clip test and read how to do it but i havent got an ecu light? Theres not one on the ecu and theres not one on my digi dash?

When you say ecu light it should just flash the engine warning light. It will only work if it has been wired in correctly. You can tell this by puttin the ignition on and the EML should illumonate. If not then its not wired in.

When i turn my ignition on my engine management light comes on then goes off? Would that work?

As said if you turn the ignition on and the engine management light comes on,then goes out when you start the car you will be able to do the paperclip test. Find the right pins to bridge and the eml will flash in a sequence and you can work the code out from that.

:O i didnt read that properly Daz haha! Right i need to go do it as car is running badly :/ Fine when i first drive it but when driving the revs drop then like pick up again its quite wierd :/

I havent really as its not really something you can here! if i drive along and let of the accelerator rather than it just cruising the revs drop and sounds like its going to die but kicks back in at about 1.2k on tickover! its really jerky when i does it though! whats cts bud?

Coolant temp sensor.

could be a number of things then, throttle position sensor etc.
I would be suprised if it was the CTS as that was replaced not so long ago

I have a feeling its the 1.2 16v and 1.0l you need a tech 2 for but I might be wrong
