woohoo my first post!

anyway, couldnt find this in the faq`s so ill ask here...

What size of tyre is best for handling and ride when using 15" alloys. The car is a 3-door corsa and will have a 2 litre 16v engine fitted soon.
I am thinking 195/50/15. Cheap and low-ish profile but still plenty sidewall flex to soak up some bumps. How will this affect the speedo accuracy? These shouldnt scrub the arches should they? It will probably be lowered 30mm ish. The alloys will be off another Vauxhall so offset will be 46-49mm.

Thanks,
Dave.

Shouldn't bee any problems with rubbing

15's and 45 profile = same size as standard wheel and tyre

Not much difference between 45 and 50 I'd go with the 45

I got 195/50/15s on mine, previously had 165/65/14s, the speedo is exactly the same. With the 50s you get a cheaper tyre and itll soak up bumps, while still looking ok!

I think that may refer to de-bolting the rear arches - in whcih case you take the top two bolts off and bond the rches on instead or something similar.
