Guys, i dont spray paint much but im sorting out a rust bubble i had on my boot, ive smoothed it down, sanded between coats of primer etc. but when it comes to the main colour coat & lacquer do i sand between coats then?

Not between paint and lacquer, unless you encounter a reaction, which will need to be dealt with as it carry on reacting between coats.
Make sure your 100% happy with the finish of the primer as a good paint job relies on good prep work.
Take it easy with the base coat (colour) build up slowly to avoid runs etc, and with the lacquer I usually do a mist coat to start with let that go tacky and then give a good pass with the lacquer.
That's my method. Other people have different ways
