Went for a test drive around the block after fixing a leak in my exhaust and my car made a funny noise and all of a sudden wasnt accelarating. Tried to knock it down a gear and same again. The linkage still feels tight but there's just no power in any gear.
I can get in gear with or without the clutch engage and rolling backwards/forwards in gear doesn't stop the car.
Clutch/Gearbox?
Help would ber appreciated!

So if you put it in gear with the engine running it makes no attempt to move? If so then does it make any funny noises while in gear at all? How does the clutch feel?

When engine is running it makes no attempt to move. It makes a funny crunching noise when I try and release the clutch and the clutch feels normal.

Does sound like it may be a drive shaft if you're lucky!

Passenger side drive shaft. Rattling about far too much! Now to read up on how to fix it. Thanks Andy!

A whole shaft can be had for £25 and you don't need to touch cv grease that way

Had a look the other night whilst round the mothers and the passenger shaft definitely feels like it could be broken box side.
I'm assuming that loss of one shaft means loss of all drive due to the diff not being able to work properly?
