Just put my car in for MOT this morning and they just this minute rang me to say the back box (a standard one) has a crack in it.
They said £72.00 for parts and fitting etc. for a new one.
Have I been ripped off for a horrible standard steel back box?
Saved me the hastle of looking round and then getting it re-MOT'd though.

yes you have
it'll be even funnier if they have put a pea shooter on it
good way to find out is to phone around a few exhaust places and ask for prices
but i suppose this would be too much like common sense

Apparently my exhaust rotted internally (its only 3 years old!) Vauxhall charged me £25 to fit a new standard one.
