First thing is to Earth it, the best place is same earth as amp/amps, second you have to charge it, to do this you attach cable to it but not straight from the battery there has to be a gap in the wire into which you stick a bulb of some sort usually get one with the cap then the bulb will light up as its charging when the bulb goes out you know it is fully charged!!!!!
Now you have the earth and it is charged all you have to do is to chop it into the system the easiest way is by wireing it into you distribution block if you have one!!!!
If you do then all you do is use one of the side entrances to the distribution block where the battery cable goes and hey presto, if you dont have a distribution block i cant quite remember what you have to do, but i think you have to run the battery wire to the cap then run another wire from the cap to the amp so effectivly just chopping it into the system, hope this helps

I see so at the mo its
Battery > Cable > Distribution Block > The 2 out going Amps
So it wud be:
Battery > Light > Power Cap > Distribution Block > 2 out goin amps?

This is how it should end up:

Hopefully that makes it clearer, with the bulb you take the wire from battery attach the bulb to that then attach a piece of wire to the cap then add the bulb to this this will charge the cap without damaging it and then when the bulb goes out it is fully charged so remove the bulb then wire up as above

Only use the cap for your bass amp, not for any other. The cap and amps must be grounded independently, dont just share off the amps ground

Other thing was, if you have 2 batteries, do you have to connect all the ICE stuff to the negative terminal of the battery for the ICE, or can you connect the negs of both batteries to the chassis and then connect the grounds to that? Dunno if i explained that well, but do you have to keep the high drain stuff seperate from the normal car runing stuff?!

You need to connect the negatives of both batteries to the chassis regardless otherwise they wont work or charge. Using the positive of one battery and the negative of another wont work. However once you have connected both batteries to the chassis, you can connect the grounds wherever you like but if the second battery is quite close then connect it directly to the terminal.

"Only use the cap for your bass amp, not for any other" - in that case on your diagram move the cap in between amp1 & the distribution block.
- its a fuse not a bulb
give him a chance guys, if you don't do it yourself you'll never learn.

The charging bulb/resistor is only used the first time to avoid huge sparks when connecting up the cap. Its not in there permanently.
