How did you get the date to stay on?? Or is it just your new hu doesnt make it turn off when hu turns on?

What HU did you previously have. I wish I bought that Alpine unit instead of my Pioneer 8400. Oh well... Looks really good though just like everything else on the car.

yeah its hard wired into the battery,
yes they are powerful and will need wiring to the bat,
I will be taking the wire out when i have my amps and turning the amp off on the headunit, as there will be no need for it then

dont mean to piss on the bombfire but you'll find it aint top of the range Mp3. Top is the 7696 F1 Status at approx £2k, then the 7969 which plays DVD's £1k and then the 7998R (mine) @ £800. Oh and whats the point in down-grading the gauge of your power wire? its pointless.

What class would that be as im sure its a single slot CD/Mp3 unit, funnily enough the same 'class' as the 7998R? You say in the above post that you hardwired the unit to the battery because it sucks a lot, and the when you run it on justs its pre-outs it wont suck as much so you''l be taking out the wire... Why bother, its doing no harm by being bigger and allowing more current through.
