NEED ADVICE

JUST HAD THE CAR IN FOR A SERVICE AND VAUXHALL HAVE SAID THAT THE REAR LOAD SENSING VALVE IS WORN.
THEY QUOTED ME £225 FOR PARTS + LABOUR.
THE CAR IS A CORSA B 1.4 Sri (1993)

AM I BEING RIPPED OFF, WILL THIS PASS AN MOT?

CAN IS BEING COLLECTED @ 14:50 TODAY
ADVICE PLEASE?

It will fail a MOT, can get a scrap one for 25 squid and yes they're a right bitch to fit... i know mine failed on the same thing

SERIOUSLY overpriced me thinks!!

£25 from a scrappy sounds about right! but yeah, complete bitch to fit!

Mine was all rusted to fook when I took the beam off my corsa, the beam is fine, but the mounting bracket & valve are wasted

best bet - get the valve from a scrappy, including moun ting bracket & spring, then goto a back-street garage thing (not a main one like kwikfit, etc) and ask them to fit it for you - shouldn't cost too much hopefully - about £80 all in!
