A mate of mine wants to spray his bumpers as the previous owner did a poor job.
At the moment the bumpers are sprayed white, but its a different shade of white to the car!
He's going to spray them himself and if it turns out too poor then he'll get them done by the pros.
As they are already sprayed with laquer, can he just prime them and spray over the top? What needs to be done?
He doesnt want them smooth, can he just spray them or does he really need to sand them?

it'll probably flake off after a while.
may last a year?

front bumper probly wouldnt even last a year
stone hittin it n that wid chip it if ye dont sand it the paint WILL flake off

if they are white they SHOULD NOT be laquered. if the paint is sound, you may get away with just wet and drying them, and painting on that. other wise, you may need to fill in all the stone chips,reprime, then paint. its alot harder than it looks

you can still laquer white if you like....
If you use celly based paint it will be more durable with laquer, with 2 pac u wont need it as its part of the paint mix.
