when driving along the road the car just loose's power all the blackpool illumination's come on my dash and the car just cuts out...

have to sit at the side of the road for a minute or so until it wants to start again//

my dad said its something to do with the fuel- any other surgestions?

i had this problem with mine ended up been the ecu playing up but first id try checking plug leads spark plugs and fuel system i found out by getting crypton tuner out cost £20 saves hassel

yeah im hesitant to say this is something to do with the fuel injection system somewhere abouts. if it was an electrical fault, im sure it wouldnt be so happy to start after waiting a while before starting again

carnt really be the ECU its only about 1-2 years old, (had it replaced when the last one fucked)

i'll see the plugs etc later but why woud it let me start it back up after a minute or two?

Get it checked out on the Tech 2 at Vauxhall, sounds like an electronic problem, rather than mechanical... Is your speedo working? Does the ECU light come on at any other point before the engine cuts out?

speedo is cable driven so i guess this aint going to be a problem, engine light comes on then the car dies...
engine light never comes on while i drive

nah because the idle is perfectly fine, it NEVER drops when at lights etc...

i never have sraight forward problems with this car

if the speedo cable is working then i'd be 80% sure the problem is you coolant temperture sensor...

had the same problem when i have a 1.2 8v engine...

Check all the earthing points around the engine, mate had a problem like this, was just a loose earth.
